I was never in A-Type but during periods in FA and in CD I can say I limited interactions with the alliance so my perspective on your question is purely objective.
When one considers the question of why do you leave an alliance it's too open ended as some will leave because of the "Grass being Greener" concept but mostly, people leave due to leadership, please understand this isn't in any way a "dig" or "shot" as simply put; my interactions with you and your former alliance were in essence limited and in the main positive.
To add context to my point, there is an expression which is sometimes used in workplace leadership which is that "People don't quit jobs, they quit bosses"
During my periods of leadership; I can say that when I reflect on them, the players and pilots that left; in some cases left because of my actions, I accept that these were in some cases failures on my part but essentially they were failures of the leadership as a whole and I carry a weight from that.
Personality clashes, moving to join friends, wanting more of something specific...there are so many potential reasons But I would stress that I would never stay in or join an alliance based on them having a cool name or a cool logo, I have never considered these to be influencing factors for me and am a little confused as to why you lead with them as your question, possibly if you reflect on this aspect of your question it may highlight that as a leader that possibly your focus may have been misdirected on to what could be considered a superficial element of the alliance when more fundamental functional elements needed to be prioritised, please accept that as a constructive statement and not an insult.
If you have asked the question so as to better learn from and reflect upon the ending of a former period for you in game then I truly hope that you get the enlightenment that you seek from it and hope it makes you better as a player and leader in and out of game. I do also hope that raw wounds that seem to still be there for so many do not entirely derail your topic, the ending of an alliance can lead to a great deal of hostility. I know I have fallen foul of that and I accept that I blamed others for events that were not their fault and I have made piece with that personally so I hope the same can happen for all former A-Type members regardless of where they call home.
Regards,
RB
